Willy was born with an extra
Mini-pinky on his right hand
Was a cut up
In class
A clown
Folding passages
T-Pain
Into his recitation
Of the constitution
Some kind of declaration

Was like a bloated Lenny blabbering on about
the origins of natural law
The Greeks and cave rules and manners
Someone tried to tell him it was kindergarten
but he would have nothing of it

Willy grew up
Unexpectedly, unassumingly
Encountered
Crime and Punishment
The Musical
Kids with money and skateboards
Later bought pot

Willy got further schooled
In thermodynamics and rhythm
Pursued ballast and biophysics
Came up empty handed
Still seedy with the extra digit
Gave up all his connections to the law
Who moved in swiftly for the roundup

Willy left town
An expat in an exurb humbled
Happy and stupid
Squeezed puppies out of the missus
Rubbed nickels together
Paid his fealty in bare hide and eye teeth
To the holy corporate mother state
He dedicated his being
In remembrance of the inscrutable
Scrawled a path to this point and called it a new beginning...
