Secret City 03:20
Secret City In a secret city Full of secret workers Read the papers The traffic is murder These infinite hallways A cubicle's dream Things weren't always Quite so bleak So dire A ball of need stuck to a childhood map Full of silences and labyrinths from a secret lab Under a secret city Full of secret workers Read the papers The traffic is murder They're going to have to pry it out of me If only these parking garages could talk These infinite gas lamps In my sleep Sometimes you were there A distant dream, so tender A mesh of secrets A grid of streets They're going to have to pry it out of me

Bicycle Day 02:51
Bicycle Day I am entering the heart of empire No pictures, phone turned off Arcane reference to non fiction wasteland Elizabeth takes my breath away She takes my tray Tells me, "It's Bicycle Day" Mrs. Olson won't give me the time of day She says I've misbehaved I simply can't remember I wish I could forget Move forward with the experiment My mind the control Every time all the monkeys died I'd take your name in vain And I'd silently pray Things I thought I could unsay Speechless Bicycle Day

Fink Bio 02:52
Fink Bio Conceived in the penitentiary position: Willy was born with an extra Mini-pinky on his right hand Was a cut up In class A clown Folding passages T-Pain Into his recitation Of the constitution Some kind of declaration Of the defenselessness There will be no restitution Willy Was like a bloated Lenny blabbering on about the origins of natural law The Greeks and cave rules and manners Someone tried to tell him it was kindergarten but he would have nothing of it Willy grew up Unexpectedly, unassumingly Encountered Crime and Punishment The Musical Kids with money and skateboards Later bought pot Willy got further schooled In thermodynamics and rhythm Pursued ballast and biophysics Came up empty handed Still seedy with the extra digit Gave up all his connections to the law Who moved in swiftly for the roundup Willy left town An expat in an exurb humbled Happy and stupid Squeezed puppies out of the missus Rubbed nickels together Paid his fealty in bare hide and eye teeth To the holy corporate mother state He dedicated his being In remembrance of the inscrutable Scrawled a path to this point and called it a new beginning...

The Plumbers 06:30
The Plumbers When I escaped I made my way from La Borde down to the ecotone Joined a band called Pom Poko in a hamlet in the Poconos Playing art noise for schoolgirls in private galleries We took mushrooms before filming our final masterpiece And disappearing completely into blissful obscurity We plumbed the depths of despair and found redemption in futility Before crafting our comeback as a trad outfit We recorded in mansions we'd been charged to housesit With grand piano choons and luxurious suites We called ourselves the Plumbers and we retook the streets We are the Plumbers Overcomes We are the Plumbers Urban spelunkers Full of wonder Undercover We blunder and blubber With the tumblers and turncoats New spooks become old ghosts Tire of the wetwork Start wearing raincoats This weary network of random connections Falling headfirst Into handcuffs This vast collection of personages we call the Plumbers Pegasus What is it? Who wants to know? Pegasus What time is it? Must be home before she wakes Pegasus Jesus, read the script Our daughters don't give a damn about our stupid code names To them we're the Plumbers In and out When you need us We're like the weather with the patience of Job We serve at the pleasure Everloving altar of the unknown When i escaped I made my way from La Borde down to the ecotone Joined a band called Pom Poko in a hamlet in the Poconos We are the Plumbers We are the Plumbers

The Analyst 03:44
The Analyst Almost makes you stop and wonder Our exposure The risk of failure The ratios grow exponential Conflating ideas, things, and facts Compiling data For the gods to sort through Money supply GDP Have you seen the numbers? Jubilee The Analyst sees jubilee The analyst foresees Jubilee People out in the street People out in the street The analyst sees a bankrupt system of belief Like playing the piano with broken fingers Have you taken a look at the numbers? Like talking to a tape recorder Almost makes you stop and wonder Jubilee People out in the street People out in the street The Analyst sees A bankrupt system of belief

Kakistocrat 06:34
Kakistocrat K k kakistocrat There's nothing wrong with that No one can fault a man for doing what he's got to do No one knows how hard it is to be you The headless horseman K k kakistocrat Narrate this poem Not really A friend You can call in the middle of the night Are your lights out too? The executive in you knows you shouldn't even want it In my own apartment I can listen to Charlie Parker In my own apartment I can listen to Charlie Parker Living standards In late stage low wage bills unpaid take what the doctor said K k k capitalism I observe my surroundings Evaluate my options Odds of survival Metamorphoses required What must I become to outrun The Kakistocracy Human history Nero's fiddle man Made up memory Plant pictures in mind's eye Use the language against itself Until the referent is free floating The gold standard gone Smoke rings by the fireside We all act like we're put upon In the end it's all Obscenity the magnificent powers of the super rich To auction off reality Endless empire man One true story The corpulent towers of titans and brokers 1 in 11 Billion human beings One economy One source of energy Tools that could sustain life used to destroy it In an open exchange of ideas and cluster bombs We used to pray to the sun and we may yet again Kakistocracy The first true democracy Nostradamus man Play monopoly with your kids And still lose Blame the bank Blame the government Make things worse Troll farm the counterpunch Nonsense works Let us remove all pretense and replace it with gold leaf everything Let us strike a blow to the foundations of parody Couple and uncouple Bind and unbind Trample and hoard before the trampling hordes Different theories around scarcity The logistics of truly exhausting the supply of anything In a closed system A negative feedback loop A sine wave Reversals in polarity We used to worship the sun and we may yet again As the faithful come to fear their savior It's the bureaucrats that follow on his coattails you should worry about If you're inclined to worry about Kakistocracy A dollar a day In terms of solutions Who is deciding what the problems are and how to fix them? Hypocrisy had a clear meaning and definition Was recognizable in a crowd Replicable in the lab Lousy to live with but good to know Plenty of others Dying to go Make history Kakistocracy Wrest from the clutches the clenches Of cheap gangsters in pinstripes Buying and selling debt Commoditizing dreams and failures Bankrolling silent coups And the secret city that's tracking you Through your best friend Talk to it and it talks back Cut it and it bleeds wire Rearrange a grain of sand and everything changes Hope never dies it just switches hosts The sense in which we are all born as ghosts In every state we will ever visit In every time we will ever know In every possible outcome of every conceivable scenario Social security Yeah you're on your own man He'd do anything for anybody is just something people say on camera You don't know him and you're not anybody, you're you Monumentally fucked with plenty left to lose To the kakistocracy The endless misery of the Kakistocrat

The Wire's Nest Never speak of her in front of me I said to my mother We don't have the capital to finance it So that's out of the question for now The inner workings of bureaucracies Smashing pianos to bits and bits The wire's showing The wire's touching The wire knows what you did One guy works in construction Writing poems The others in the boardroom discussing mergers and acquisitions My possessions Don't laugh There is no good argument for human life on this Earth If you can afford to stay fucked up you should was the only advice ever proffered his innocence the last thing his father filched and plundered Each event discrete No anomalies The wire is running into me The wire is running out

about

Demos recorded in my mother in laws guest room in Carroll County MD during the winter / spring of 2017/18. No guitars, quiet vocals. Intended to serve as demos for the follow up to SIGINT's 2017 release The Unreliable Narrator, their fate remains uncertain. They serve as a more or less accurate document of the period.
